TOP TEN OF SUMMER – FAVORITES AND WISHES

Here we are in the middle of summer and I find that amazing. It seems as though the year began not so long ago. However, there is no denying that July has slowly unwound already and August is pressing on, ready to burst into full bloom.

So, I thought it would be nice to list some of my favorite things of this summer so far along with some of my families favorites as well

My favorite……

song has been ‘ You Sexy Thing’ from Hot Chocolate. It’s an oldie but, it’s alot of fun to sing along with when you’re hanging out around the house.  :)

movie is ‘ Confessions of a Shopaholic ‘. It was so funny and it made some good points, too.

new purchase is my very , very cute blue bikini from Gilly Hicks.

perfume … well, actually what I’ve been wearing the most is a combination of my Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Amande and Hawaiian Tropics Tanning Oil -  LOVE IT!        Mix those together and that’s been my signature scent of the summer. Yummy.  :)

food is guacamole. I really do love that. I really would like that right now, actually.  :)

cocktail has been a mojito – no big surprise there, right?  lol

thing has been accomplishing some long standing goals.

pass-time is hanging out with my friends and meeting new ones.

experience has been visiting the Perfume Expo America.

object obtained is my passport.

My sisters favorite….

song has been ‘ She Wolf ‘ from Shakira.

thing to do is being sun drenched.

pass-time is flirting.

experience is her birthday.

object obtained is her passport.

My mothers favorite…..

movie has been ‘ The Proposal ‘.

pass-time is haning out with friends.

goal accomplished is loosing weight.

Here is a bonus list.

My wish list for the rest of the summer.

I wish to….

1.  go to the beach or a water park. Either one will make me happy.  :)

2. get a new car that is all my own.

3. have a really great, happy, and fun birthday. The best one yet. :)

4. go on some really nice dates.  ( That’s always on my list ;) )

5. start taking some pilates or yoga classes.

6. read Hester Brown’s new book ‘ The Finishing Touches’ .

7. be less stressed!

8. visit the museum.

9. go to the salon and get a new hair style.

10. to get a lot of sun and just really, really enjoy all the beauty, peace, abundance, warmth, happiness, long nights with fireflies, flowers, strolls, and smiles that summer holds and keep it.

Well, that’s my list -  from favorites to wishes.

What are yours?

What have your summer favorites been? What song have you been dancing in the kitchen to?  Most importantly what made you smile? You know I love to know.

:)    :)    :)

Luscious Weekly Highlights

This week in my Luscious Life:

I watched The Proposal. It was really funny. Everyone in the theater was laughing. So, if you like Sandra Bullock comedies you will enjoy this one. :)

My passport just came in today! I wasn’t expecting it to come in so fast – only a couple of weeks. The world is official my oyster. Now all I need is some cash and a plane ticket.  :)

If you have been following my post you will remember that it has been raining alot here lately. This week was no exception. Heavy rain, thunder, lightning, wind , you name it – we had it. Sooo, yesterday I was at my job working outside and got caught in the middle of a storm burst.  Was I wet? Oh, yes. Yes, I was. Completely drenched all the way through, my shoes made squishy noises as I walked. My client that I had spoken to about twenty minutes earlier in the office said I looked like I had just jumped into a swimming pool. That was an accurate description. He offered me his jacket  -so sweet. ;)    I have declared myself the offices offical wet t-shirt competition winner. :)  True I was the only contestant, but that just makes it easier to win. I figure since I don’t foresee ever actually competing in one   -              why not ?!  lol

Well, I also did some cooking , there will be some more recipe posts for all those of you who’ve been missing them. I listened to some great music which I love.  Had long chats with a good friend and found the solution to a challenge I have been working on for a while. So, all in all , a good week.

Next week I should have a surprise for all of you so, stay tuned!

I’m pretty excited about it.

So, how was your LusciousLife?

 Cinematic? Liberating? Wet?

lol

Let me know!

:)

Wanderlust and Me

Definitions of ‘wanderlust’
(wŏńdər-lŭst́)

Dictionary.com · The American Heritage® Dictionary – (1 definition)

[German, wandern, to wander (from Middle High German), + Lust, desire (from Middle High German) (from Old High German; see las-).](noun)

A very strong or irresistible impulse to travel.

          Yes, that’s me! :)

With my Dad and little brother in 1985 at the Konigsplatz in Augsberg, Germany. My Mom was taking the photos – hi mom! I love this picture.

Well, as you can see I was traveling since I was itty-bitty. My parents never thought that they shouldn’t travel or move just because we were young. They always figured it was good for us to see the world and experience different cultures and people. I know some people think it’s better to raise children in one town so they feel rooted, and I guess that has its place, but I also think that traveling certainly has its advantages.

I hopped my first flight when I was two and have been bitten by the travel bug ever since. Not that it was a smooth ride for me  – I threw up while landing~read with pout, but everything was worth it. Landing and meeting my Dad at the terminal, running with my brother through our new apartment and finding the marzipan candy my Dad had hid in all the rooms, and all the adventures we had from then on.  We went all over Europe. Who wouldn’t get addicted?

When we came back to America I always thought I’d be back in a couple of years. It’s really amazing how much time has passed since then. I have traveled around America , of course, the mid-west, the south, the Atlantic coast, the Gulf coast. And all of it has had it’s charms, absolutely.

But, recently I have been thinking about  and needing a long vacation. I’m sure all of you have had the same feeling before. I don’t want to move away, but a little excursion to a land where copious amounts of sun block is required, sand sneaking into your shoes, the rhythm of unfamiliar accents dancing on the air… could be a wonderful distraction. Maybe, because it’s spring, maybe it’s a now or never feeling, maybe it’s looking for something I don’t want to loose. Who knows? But, I’ve been checking flights and using words like all-inclusive. :) I think it’s time to start saving up. All-inclusive never seems to have buy one-get one days.

So, boys and girls, where to go? Bahamas, Greece, Barcelona, London, Brazil, Costa Rica, Porto Fino… the world is our oyster. London is a little lean on the sun, but always seemed interesting. Hawaii is gorgeous, but I want a stamp in my passport. Brazil is exotic and hot, but it’s a long flight and crazy drivers. Greece is completely unique, but I had a dream where it completely exploded – it is sitting on a volcano, you know. I’m a practical woman and compulsively weigh the pros and cons and I just don’t know what to choose.

What do you think? Where do you think I should visit? Have you gone somewhere that is not to be missed? Postcard worthy? A million photogenic smiles a day?

I’m taking recommendations! :)
