Quote of the Day….
” The most beautiful discovery that true friends can make is that they can grow seperately without growing apart. “
- Elizabeth Foley
This is true for the very best of friends.
Here is to the one who has your back, gives you the best advice, laughs when you do, spends the whole day doing nothing with you, brings you brownies, answers the phone when you call, is actually interested in what you did today, yesterday, and will be doing tomorrow, who will share their lunch with you, who remembers your birthday, who’s on your speed dial, the ultimate confidant.
Friends for life.
Family by choice.

Baby Shower…..Thank You
The first time I heard this poem I was at a lovely baby shower thrown by my Aunt’s mother-in-law for her other daughter-in-law. Her son had married a wonderful woman from Slovenia, where he lived. On their annual trip to visit their family they were able to have a baby shower with everyone.
It was a beautiful August day and they had pitched a big white tent in the back yard filled with tables, chairs, a banquet table, and an ever increasing mound of gifts. Bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, and greeting cards all crammed onto one little table creating a pastle Everest.
After the mingling, the children running around, sampling from the buffet, and sharing baby stories it was time to open the gifts. Before it began the mother- in-law, Mrs.M, read this lovely poem to all the friends and family for her new grandchild.
THE BABY SHOWER THANK YOU
I’m sorry I can’t be there with you,
But I’m very busy you see,
Painting my eyes, my cheeks, my hair,
So mother will be proud of me.
I’m sending this little message,
to convey to you this thought,
The Stork will soon have left me,
To use the gifts you brought.
Be sure to come and see me,
As soon as I get here.
Just give mother time,
To dress me ever so dear.
And so I Thank You from my heart
for each lovely gift for me.
For when the Stork leaves me with mother
I’ll not be dresses you see.
Little Baby ( your baby’s name here )
Super cute , right?
Everyone loved it.
A few months later Little Baby Carolina came to thank everyone in person.
So, if you have a little one on the way or are hosting a baby shower for a special mother-to -be in your life this would be a great shower gift printed out and rolled up like a scroll, tied with a ribbon or use your creativity and personalize it.
I hope you enjoy it.
Do you have any baby shower ideas you would like to share?
Please, do.

Superpowers, Anyone?
The other night I came up with this little empowerment exercise that ended up being a really funny and interesting topic for the evening and I thought that you would enjoy it.
The basic thought is that you have to be able to envision yourself as powerful, dynamic, and capable in order to believe it , in order to obtain it. However, I think that a lot of people sell themselves short and never really visualize the possibilities, fearing to be too silly. So, in order to break the mold and reach for the stars and your greater self it’s time to go BIG. Really big. Some may even say… super?
O.K. Here’s the deal. Imagine that there you were last Saturday night strolling through the park on your way home from the movies munching on the remainder of your large popcorn with extra butter. Something catches your eye and you glance up at the sky. Is it a bird, a plane? No, it’s giant meteorite and it’s heading right for you! SLAM ! BOOM! BANG! Popcorn everywhere- que dramatic music- In mere moments you realize that the extra 2.50 you spent for the large wasn’t necessary, that you’re alive, and something is different. That tingling feeling isn’t just adrenalin, you know deep down inside, that you have changed. All those movies and comic books coming rushing back to you and you realize the only perfectly logical explanation based on your knowledge of falling meteorites is that you have been endowed by the Universe, Fate, and trajectory with a Superpower!!!
Oh, my gosh! You can…!!???
All right, now fill in the blank. What is your superpower? What is your cosmic gift? How can you help humanity and small kittens stuck in a tree?
Here is the list of the our living room choices for you to enjoy.
ME: Luck – Super Luck ( some people believe that this is not a super power, however, I disagree and am standing by it
UNCLE : Being able to communicate with any animal mystical, magical, or real.
DAD: Impossible Man’s abilities
KIRK: Morph’s abilities from the X-Men
SISTER: Power of Persuasion
BROTHER: Instant Manifestation
MOM: Immortality and Telekinesis – She’s Mom, she get two.
DISCLAIMER: This empowerment exercise in no way guarantees invisibility, instantaneous intergalactic travel, telekinesis, etc. However, if you do happen to experience spontaneous super human abilities such as x-ray vision, levitation, or extreme regeneration the following protocol must be adhered to:
1. Tell all of your friends and family to check out iLusciousLife for the time of their life.
2. Remember with great power comes great responsibility.
3. E-mail me immediately. Seriously.
