Quote of the Day….
” The most beautiful discovery that true friends can make is that they can grow seperately without growing apart. “
- Elizabeth Foley
This is true for the very best of friends.
Here is to the one who has your back, gives you the best advice, laughs when you do, spends the whole day doing nothing with you, brings you brownies, answers the phone when you call, is actually interested in what you did today, yesterday, and will be doing tomorrow, who will share their lunch with you, who remembers your birthday, who’s on your speed dial, the ultimate confidant.
Friends for life.
Family by choice.

Chocolate + Love = Chocolove
Much like the ancient Aztec, the Swiss, and lovers on Valentine’s Day I love chocolate.
Lots of it.
Chocolate truffles, chocolate milk, fudge, chilled chocolate layered cake, etc., etc.
Recently I came across chocolate bars from a chocolate company based out of Boulder, CO. called Chocolove who like to keep things interesting. They have have twelve different varieties but, one in particular caught my eye. Ginger Crystalized in Dark Chocolate. Intriguing. I picked up the bar wrapped in green paper designed to have a the look of a well traveled passport with stamps and seals and chunky, inky typed letters written across it, wondering how the ginger would work with the cocoa.
Once at home I broke off a dark square and tried it. Amazingly enough the ginger was not over powering but was actually a fun and spicey depth of flavor that was so natural I’m surprized more people don’t use the combination. Almost like eating a holiday ginger snap cookie that was perfectly blended in the creamy chocolate. Very, very nice. It was a fun exotic treat.
Apparently the cryastalized ginger is from Australia and the dark chocolate was made in Belgium from cocoa beans grown in the Caribbean and Africa which was then all combined in Colorado – it was a world endeavour to bring these delicious bars into our lives. It also explains all the stamps and seals.
As I’m sure you probably know by now chocolate contains phenylethylamine a feel-good love chemical that our bodies produce. That is probably why love and chocolate walk hand in hand through history and has pretty much been a favorite in every culture it has been introduced to. Chocolove decided to go one step further and include a love poem that is written inside each wrapper – So don’t just toss it in a rush of craving, take your time and enjoy a lovey-dovey poem just for you.
Here is mine:
From: Venus and Adonis
Venus: ‘ Witness this primrose bank whereon I lie;
These forceless flowers like sturdy trees support me;
Two strengthless doves will draw me through the sky,
From morn till night, even where I list to sport me:
Is love so light , sweet boy, and may it be
That thou shouldst think it heavy unto thee?
‘ Is thine own heart to thine own face affected?
Can thy right hand seize love upon thy left?
Then woo thyself, be of thyself rejected,
Steal thine own freedom, and complain of theft…
‘ Torches are made to light, jewels to wear,
Dainties to taste, fresh beauty for the use,
Herbs for their smell, and sappy plants to bear;
Things growing to themselves are growth’s abuse:
Seeds spring from seeds, and beauty breedeth beauty;
Thou wast begot; to get it is thy duty
William Shakespeare
Wrapping chocolate in Shakespeare is a bit of poetry in itself, don’t you think?
So, have you tried any of Chocolove’s chocolate? Read any of their love poems? Or had any other beautiful chocolate experience? As always I’d LOVE to know.
Yours Truely,

Quote of The Day…….
Before you were conceived
I wanted you.
Before you were Born
I loved you.
Before you were here an hour
I would die for you.
This is the miracle of life.

Quote of the Day…
” For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
– Audrey Hepburn
Gosh, she was awesome. Truely iconic. I don’t even know if I have seen one of her of her movies but, I still know who she is. With quotes like that it’s no wonder. Not a prima donna, a real woman who set standards. Standards that apply decades later – timeless.
I don’t know if people will ever quote me but, if they ever do I hope I can give them something that good worth talking about.
Did you know there is a book called ” What would Audrey Do”. It’s pretty good ,too. A girls how-to guide on life.
Some people really epitomize what it means a certain kind of person. Someone who would be a star no matter their occupational field. She could have had a fan club wearing an apron serving pizzas down on the corner. Glitter, lights, and marquees aren’t neccesary. What they bring to the table is what you come for. These peope leave an impression on you of an idealism personified. This idealism is how we measure ourselves.
So, who do you think of when you think of a Classic woman? An actress? Someone you’ve personally known?

Quote of the Day….
” Blow wind to where my loved one is,
touch her and come and touch me soon.
I’ll feel her gentle touch through you
and meet her beauty in the moon.
These things are much for one who loves -
A man can live by them alone.
-Ramayana
O.K. this is actually a poem, not a quote. Oh, well. It’s totally beautiful so, of course, I had to share.
This is for anyone out there can’t be with their loved one this weekend.
Go outside and feel the wind.

Notes on Today… and Therapy?
Hi, everyone . I just wanted to make a little post about what an amazingly beautiful day today was in my little patch of the world. Driving down the road with the windows down the D.J. on the radio said it 91 degrees outside. Ahhh, I smiled.
I love it hot outside. The sun is so good. What a wonderful change from the freeze of earlier this week. It is hammock time everyone! Break out the glam sunglasses, aloe gel, bikinis and throw in a pina colada; when it hits over 90 it offically time to celebrate!
A new song for your summer playlist?
I’m loving India Arie’s new Therapy….sign me up
Check it out.
